Thailand Working Holiday Scheme
No places available.
There are 100 places available annually under this scheme to young citizens of Thailand for a 12-month stay in New Zealand. The scheme runs from July each year. There are no places currently available. More places will become available on Monday, 12 July 2010 at 10.00 am NZT.
Please note that there is a requirement that applicants under this scheme produce a letter of support from the Thailand Office of the Welfare Promotion, Protection and Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups (OWP). You may be required to attend an interview to obtain this letter. If you are applying from outside Thailand you should ensure you will be able to get this letter before you lodge your application.
As with many of our working holiday schemes, the interest from potential applicants is much greater than the number of places available. This can result in the quota being filled within hours of it opening, and may mean that many people miss out. Having the letter from the OWP does not guarantee a place in the quota.
Dear XXX
The quota places are counted from when you lodge your application, either online or at the counter.
If the quota is full you will not be able to lodge your application online.
If you come to the counter we will check to see if there are any quota places remaining before we accept your application.
If you apply online you will have seven working days to send us your documents.
You will not loose your place in the quota during those seven days.
If you do not send us your documents within seven days you will loose your place in the quota and it will be available to the next person who applies.
The best option to secure a place in the quota is to apply online when the places become available on July 12th, 10am NZ time.

Subject: What is the difference of Working Holiday Application between Online and Manual method?
Dear New Zealand Immigration Bangkok Branch,
I already talked to your Thai Officer and she told me that "event I apply online and pay the fee on this coming 12th of July at 10AM NZT (5 AM in Thailand) but if there is a people walk-in and has completed application requirements in the morning of 12th at the Bangkok Branch, he/she will have more priority to process the application first?"
So the online application is useless because if there are 100 people submitted online application, the walk-in application still open in the morning at Bangkok Branch. I and my friends still need you to confirm this is the way you process the application, sir/madam.
I have some questions to ask you for the answers. There are :
- What the method that has more priority between "1. Online Application that already paid the fee" and "2. Walk-in Application on the 12th of July"?
- If there are 100 people filled and submitted online application at 5 AM , are you still open walk-in/manual application in the morning at Bangkok Branch Office?
- If the answer is YES, so I do not need to apply online application because you will process the walk-in/manual application first then I have to wait and submit paper application in the morning at the front door of Bangkok Branch instead?
- Assume that I am the 100th people of online application and there is 7-Day to submit paper requirements to your office. So the online application is closed. If there is a person walk-in and submit paper application between the gap time of 7-Day, Is his/her application will have priority first?
I am pleased to thank you for your answers.
Best Regards,
